The Montserrat Government UK Office (MGUKO) was established in October 1998 by Mrs. Janice Panton in response to the challenges faced by Montserratians relocating to the UK after the eruption of the Soufrière Hills Volcano in 1995. Under the leadership of Ms. Kei-Retta Farrell, the UK Representative for the Government of Montserrat, and with the support of Ms. Dulcy Jeffers, the MGUKO serves as a vital link between Montserrat and the United Kingdom.
Our mission is to strengthen diplomatic ties, support the Montserratian diaspora, and promote the island’s socio-economic development and cultural heritage. We are dedicated to upholding the values of integrity, authentic representation, collaboration, and innovation, with the aim of driving sustainable growth and enhancing Montserrat’s global presence.
Diplomatic Representation
MGUKO actively strengthens Montserrat’s ties with the United Kingdom, advocating for Montserrat’s priorities on the international stage. We foster partnerships that support socio-economic development and strategically enhance Montserrat’s image and influence.
Sustainable Development
Our office supports investment initiatives that drive growth and resilience in Montserrat. Collaborating with government ministries, departments, charities, and NGOs, we strive to create sustainable prosperity for the Montserratian community.
Consular Services
We provide crucial support to Montserratians in the UK, offering guidance on citizenship, emigration, and relocation. We assist with necessary registry documents and serve as a dependable point of contact for all consular inquiries, ensuring the well-being of Montserratians abroad.
Community Engagement
We foster strong connections within the Montserratian community in the UK by sharing information and promoting activities that celebrate our heritage. Our efforts aim to strengthen ties with the diaspora and support the community’s growth and well-being.
MGUKO not only supports Montserratians in the UK but also contributes significantly to the island’s visibility and development. We invite you to connect with us and learn more about our activities and how we can serve you. Together, we are building a resilient and thriving future for all Montserratians, both at home and abroad.
